Peanut Labs is one of the hundreds of paid survey sites out there but is Peanut Labs a scam you need to stay away from, a total time-waster or a safe and legit side hustle?
You're about to find out the full pros and cons of Peanut Labs in this 100% honest review.
I like the idea of taking online surveys because it's something you can do on the go or in your free time. Sadly though, a lot of surveys aren't worth your while because the payouts are so minuscule…
But determined not to be beaten, I'm hopeful more paid surveys sites like Swagbucks will pop up that actually pay you a decent amount.
So, is Peanut Labs one of the better online survey sites out there? Let's find out!
Peanut Labs Review At A Glance
About: Peanut Labs is said to be a survey company with over 3 million panelists. It's said to payout as much as $10 million/year.
Price: Free to join.
Pros: Doesn't sell your info to other companies.
Cons: You can get screened out even when you're 30 minutes into the survey, forced to work for free, low income potential.
Verdict: It's not a scam, but it doesn't pay well for the time you spend working on it. It's better if you spend your time with a more profitable online opportunity like affiliate marketing.

How Peanut Labs Works
If you head over to Peanut Labs you're not going to find a ‘become a panellist' sign up form, instead you have to go through one of their partnering survey sites like GrindaBuck, OfferNation or Survey Momma.
Once you've given them a few details like your name, address and contact info, you'll be asked to fill out your profile by completing several pre-qualifying questionnaires that ask you more in-depth questions about your personal interests, spending and family life.
Once a registered panellist, you should receive email invites a few times a month. Each survey should only take 10-20 minutes on average though there's a preliminary qualifying survey before each one to make sure you're a good match.
There are 2 ways to make money with Peanut Labs. Online consumer surveys are the bread and butter of the site, though they've also partnered up with companies who have free trial offers you can sign up to for a bit of cashback.
1. Get Paid With Peanut Labs Surveys
Go to the main member's area dashboard and you'll see a limited number of surveys available. If not, be patient and you'll receive a survey invite in your inbox.
Watch this video to see a quick walkthrough of a typical survey:
The surveys themselves are pretty simple, mainly multiple choice questions, though unfortunately, they are very low paying even for paid survey websites.
2. Get Cashback On Free Trial Offers
Like TimeBucks, 20 Cogs and OhMyDosh, Peanut Labs give you a list of trial offers available in your area and reward you for signing up with them.
You might be asked to sign up for a 12-month subscription to Netflix or a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime and receive $.10 – $2.00 for signing up.
While this is a nice little kickback if you were thinking of signing up to these services anyway, be sure you're not spending more than you're making.
If you're smart you can cancel these subscriptions before the free trial period ends and come out on top, but forget and you'll find yourself paying out for the full amount for something you didn't really want in the first place!
How Much Money Can You Make With Peanut Labs?
Whichever way you look at it, you're never going to get rich with Peanut Labs or any other survey site for that matter – payouts are too small, surveys take too long and there's not enough of them to go around.
Here you can see the list of surveys I was given:
Based on this, the absolute maximum you can expect to make is $1.50 per hour.
Peanut Labs Complaints And Reviews
There's a lot of discussion online about whether or not Peanut Labs is a scam. They've been rated a 1 out of 5 stars on TrustPilot, a 1.3 star out of 5-star rating on SiteJabber and have 90% negative ratings with the Better Business Bureau.
This doesn't look good, but let's take a look at the most common Peanut Labs complaints:
1. Getting Screened Out
This is by far the biggest frustration I'm hearing from panellists who are told 30 minutes into a survey they no longer qualify, despite the fact they've answered all the questions.
If it's true they have a 90% disqualification rate then I think they should take a serious look at the screening processes.
I mean, why not ask a few extra questions at the account setup stage and save people from having to waste their time?
2. You're Forced To Work For Free
Some users accuse Peanut Labs of using unethical practices to get feedback from panellists while never intending to pay them what they're owed.
Whether this is true or not I guess we'll never know for sure, but the fact there's so many complaints is not exactly reassuring…
My Personal Thoughts On Peanut Labs
Peanut Labs is a safe and secure website that has been around for a long time. I don't think they're a scam and I don't think they will sell your personal contacts on to other companies, however, I can not recommend them as a legit way of making money.
Peanut Labs' surveys are time-consuming and your potential earnings extremely limited.
They literally pay you peanuts for handing over your private and confidential information and I just don't think it's worth it. There are far better and legitimate ways to make money.
Is Peanut Labs Right For You?
If you're only expecting to earn a few extra cents here and there then you might find Peanut Labs a good fit but honestly, why waste your time filling out endless surveys when you could build a real online business instead?
Running an income-generating business takes work and there are new skills you're going to need to learn, but you'll earn 1000x more than you ever could with peanut Labs.

Peanut Labs’ survey service is as close to a scam as they can get without immediately getting in trouble with authorities. Like other people have said before, I have had quite a few surveys suddenly close when you are very far in, giving you no compensation. After filling out quite a few surveys over a period of months I suddenly received a permanent suspension for an alleged TOS violation, which was completely unwarranted. There are many reports of this being a standard thing to occur after a certain amount of time/surveys. Customer service is completely unresponsive. This service is built to squeeze information out of people while skipping as much of the payout as possible.
Give me some surveys please.none yesterday n none today.it says it can’t get in touch with provider.give me something else!!!!!
Hello . PeanutLabs was one the offerwalls from which I used to attempt most surveys on GPT sites , but sadly , they quit rewarding points for survey attempt . Are you aware if that was a definite move or is it just an aftermath of the pandemic ?
Can’t say for sure Will, except to say that survey sites across the board, are in steep decline as more companies go directly to social media sites if they want any feedback.
Please check the BBB, Trust Pilot and other review sites, they have been having a lot of problems and shutting down anyone that start to question why they have not received payment or credit, so avoid doing any of their survey with any other panels that use them
Yeah, that’s never a good sign. Peanut Labs are not paying people much to begin with, so the very least they can do is pay people what they’re owed! Thank you for sharing this Francisco.
I really do not understand while people say that you can only make $10 to $20 a month with swagbucks, one of the most popular websites of this type. Although I have had someone somewhere say that he made $50 a month with them.
I also heard some people saying they make up to $300 a month with and between $300 to $600 sometimes. Even on swagbucks website itself, it is written and I read it one time, that their users make up to $300 to $600 every month.
I have also logged in on grabpoints and saw their monthly top earners and some of them were earning up to $700 monthly and even more sometimes.
So I think it is a general conception that people who haven’t really experienced these sites by themselves but only read about it somewhere have, by saying you can only earn about $10 to $20 a month from them.
I personally run a GPT website called PaidPoints, and even at this moment I am writing this, a user joined yesterday, already earned $10 today and requested for withdrawal, and he is not the first person, second person, nor even the third person to do it on the site.
I agree. It is not uncommon to receive $100-$500/month – however you need to know what you are doing. I like GrabPoints because you can see who is earning what, and where they earning.
Great point Steven and I thank you for sharing. Yes I did a review of GrabPoints and I agree it’s a great way to earn a little extra on the side.
You were too generous with your review of this survey site. If they do screen you out after taking 20 minutes to answer the questions it seems to me they are stealing your time at the very least. If they use the data from your answers they are stealing that too.
In the end, they get a lot of personal information from you for basically free when you fill in the sign up info even if you do get paid a few bucks at the end of the month.
Are there any real survey sites that actually pay enough to make it worth your time?
Thanks for your input Steve, the best paid survey site I’ve come across so far is Swagbucks (see my Swagbucks review here) as they have the highest rewards per action and they have more than just surveys, but even still, you can only expect to make $10-$20 per month with them.
