schema theme review

I started using the Schema WordPress theme a couple of months ago and in this Scheme theme review I'm going to share my experience with the Schema WordPress theme so far.

I made the scary decision to change my WordPress theme across all of my websites.

I didn't want to and that's why I kept putting it off, but I HAD to (I'll explain more in a sec)

After doing a lot of research I decided to go with the Schema Premium theme from the folks at MyThemeShop. At just $59 I thought it was well worth it.

What we'll cover in this review:

  • Why I had to switch from my beloved theme to Schema
  • My results after switching
  • How do they make Schema so darn FAST?
  • Customer testimonials

Why I had to switch from my beloved theme to Schema

For nearly two years I used the Avada theme from Themeforest and I was really happy with it. Avada has more customisation options than I've seen with any other theme.I spent hours tinkering and perfecting my sites and in my eyes they looked perfect.

But it didn't take me long to realise this beautiful theme was slowing down my site massively.

By checking my site loading speed with the Page Insights tool I knew I had to do something, but let's just say I let's just say I was hesitant about making the switch.

  • What new theme would I go with?
  • What if I couldn't get my website to look how I wanted?
  • What if I changing the theme just made things worse?

Eventually I got to the point I could ignore it no longer. One thing I should say is although I love blogging, it's more than just a hobby for me, it's how I make money.

Lower Google rankings means less visitors to my sites which ultimately means less sales and commissions for me. I had to cut my emotional ties with my existing theme and take the leap. I was losing money because of it.

The fact is:

Google doesn't like slow sites and neither do your website visitors.

According to KissMetrics 47% of your website visitors expect a web page to load in 2 seconds or less and 40% of people abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load.

Because Google wants to give searchers a great user experience, site speed is an important ranking factor you should look at if you're wanting higher Google rankings.

Since Google don't often announce their search algorithm updates there's a lot of speculation online about what is and what is not important when Google chooses how to rank your site, but in the case of website speed, they've made it very clear – it is crucial.

[alert-note]“Fast sites create happy users…that’s why we’ve decided to take site speed into account in our search rankings.”

– Google Webmasters[/alert-note]

After doing some research, I read about the Scheme theme and how it was “the fastest theme on the planet” and I was curious; maybe this could be exactly what I was looking for.

My results after switching to the Schema Theme

As you can see, my website speed improved dramatically. My Page Insight scores jumped from a dismal 32 on mobile and 38 on desktop to a whopping score of 89 for mobile and 95 for desktop.

Typically, if your website scores for 70 or higher you're doing very well. Any SiteSpeed over 80 is excellent, and anything that cracks into the 90s is honestly unheard-of.

How do they make Schema so darn FAST?

Schema is specifically designed for speed, I won't pretend to be a technical expert but from what I can gather, here's a few reasons why Schema is the best SEO WordPress theme and how they make it so fast:

Prefetching

At the flick of a switch (or a click of a mouse) you can turn on prefretching so that when someone lands on your website, Schema will pre-load other pages and posts so that when someone clicks on another page of your site it loads instantly.

Lazy Load

With lazy load, instead of loading all of your images when someone lands on your site from search engines or social media, it loads images only when a reader scrolls to it. This sends the message to Google that your website loads almost instantly.

Here's a quick breakdown of all of the features of Schema from the creators themselves:

Schema theme final verdict

If you're looking for a simple, easy to use WordPress theme that's fast, the Schema theme is exactly what you've been looking for.

I now use Schema across my full portfolio of websites, yes, including this one.

I'm not lookig for another theme and have every intention of sticking with them. If you're ready to buy your first premium theme, Schema is a briliant choice and I'm confident to recommend them.

The Schema theme is perfect for affiliate marketers and online entrepreneurs and anyone else who makes a living from their websites and are looking for a clean, crisp, professional looking website that is super fast, SEO friendly and mobile friendly.

Functionality: 7/10

Sure, there aren't as many options as the Avada theme but for me, the speed more than makes up for that and I'm very happy with the look of my site now. I've got the exact look and layout I want and couldn't ask for more.

Ease of Use: 8/10

I personally found changing the theme options really easy to use. Changing the colour scheme, layout,  custom css functionality. You can turn the sidebar on and off for specific posts if you want to.

The lightbox feature means you can add a pop up to your website without the need for extra plugins.

If you're looking to make money from your blog from ads, Schema has specific ad management features to help with this too.

Speed: 10/10

I couldn't be happier with the new website loading times. I've seen a sharp upturn in my Google rankings as a result of dumping the slow, sluggish theme for Schema – it's light, SEO optimised and posts load lightening fast.

Schema is the fastest WordPress theme I've ever come across and my results prove that, making Schema the best SEO WordPress theme.

Value for Money: 9/10

Schema is very reasonably priced so you can forget about paying $500+ for a premium theme. At $59 it's a steal.

With Schema, you're not just buying a theme, you're getting 24/7 support whenever you need it and this is reassuring.

Support: 10/10

The Schema support is the best experience I've ever had with any WordPress theme and deserves top marks.

After annoying the hell out of the support team, especially in the first few days after switching, I can say I've always had a quick and expert response.

There's no limit on the number of support tickets you can raise and if you need specific css styling code they'll do it for you. This means you can get your site looking exactly the way you want it.

The excellent customer support means I don't have to worry about the technical mumbo jumbo and can focus on what I'm good at – earning money through my affiliate websites.

  1. Hi, i had a very bad experience with the support at mythemeshop and the Schema Theme. Schema broke Optimizepress 2 and they didn’t want to fix it. instead, they deldeted my posting in the forum and gave me a refund. The Support was a mess and had no real skills to solve the problem at hand.

    Can’t recommend at all.

    • Hey Oli, I’m really sorry and even surprised to hear that. This website is created with MyThemeShop’s Schema theme and I’ve even bought a couple of premium plug ins from them. I contact support all the time (just twice last week in fact) and they’ve always been super helpful with me.

It sounds like there’s a compatibility issue perhaps?

Thank you for sharing your experience though, appreciate that.

      • Yes it was a incompatibility issue, but it clearly came from the Schema Theme. Also deleting the post left a really bad feeling for me since they try to hide this issue instead of openly dealing with it. Also OP2 is a widely used Plugin so there should be a willingness to solve the issue.

My experience was: they are super helpful as long as it is no technical issue.
