At WealthyAffiliate.com you've got two membership options to choose from. I've done a full Starter vs. Premium comparison but let's take a quick look:
The free Starter membership
Price of membership: $0
First there's the FREE Starter membership which gives you access to the first Online Certification training course, 2 free websites with the Site Rubix website builder and 7 days' access and interaction to the live chat and community discussion areas.

Hi Simon, I have heard of Wealthy Affiliates and yes, it seems people are attracted to it. After reading the two options available I can see why. A free Starter Membership for life – almost too good to be true. This gives people a chance to “try before you buy”. Not many places where you can do this that I know of.
I am a senior and consequently my IT skills are nearly non existent. Can seniors, like me, get a grip on the IT skills needed to take a business all the way? We could sure use a side income to boost our retirement funds.
Starting with little IT experience rather baulks me as I would expect it to take a year or two to grasp the skills. Do you have 60-70 year olds making a go of it? What do you say?

Hi there Jill, it’s great to hear from you. I actually wrote a post called Will Wealthy Affiliate Work For Seniors? where I discuss some of the points you just raised.
The first thing I would say is I’ve helped a lot of seniors start their online businesses within Wealthy Affiliate as there are a lot of people just like yourself who refuse to scrimp and scrape by on their pensions. So if they can do it, you definitely can too!
Talk about building websites and people think it’s going to be technical and complicated and I understand why, I thought that too, but with the website builders you get as part of the WA membership it really is as easy as choosing a domain name, choosing a template and clicking the ‘create your website’ button.
You’re absolutely right – Wealthy Affiliate’s free Starter membership gives you the opportunity to test drive the whole platform using only your name and email to create your account. That way you can see it for yourself and decide if it’s right for you.

The premium level of membership at Wealthy Affiliate comes with many benefits as you rightly point out and you have much more flexibility to tap into the many tools and features that you will not have access to as a free member. When I first started, it took me only a day to know that I was going to upgrade.
I did wait the entire 7 days that I had for free prior to doing that upgrade, but I just could not see myself not tapping into the vast resources that you have as a premium member of the site. As you mention, I think many of us wasted time, money, and effort prior to finding the Wealthy Affiliate platform.
You covered everything that you get quite well from my perspective about what you get as a premium member, and the great thing about all this is you can give it a spin for free, as you and I did so many years ago now. We are both still spinning with this tool, and anyone that gives it a try will also be right there with us once they see the power of what they get with Wealthy Affiliate.
I think I upgraded to Premium 3 days in after consuming a weeks’ worth of training. You could say I was very keen to get rolling!
